Add AC Repair and Service to Your Spring To-Do List

|

Spring is finally here. We’re pretty sure your to-do list already feels too long, but we have a couple of things that might save you some trouble and keep you comfortable in the months to come. The weather is going to start heating up in Huffman and the last thing you want to discover is that you need AC repair. Going through this simple checklist now may save you from sweating this summer.

  1. Check Your Air Filter and Ducts
Swapping your air filter makes it to almost every one of our lists of pointers because it’s so important and so often left unaddressed. If your air filter is filthy, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfortable. This costs you more money and causes more wear and tear which reduces the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are another piece of the puzzle that is often forgotten as well. While you’re spring cleaning, remove the covers from your registers and vacuum them. While you have the covers taken off, soak them in mild dish soap, scrub them and swap them after they’ve dried.
  2. Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units clear of debris such as grass clippings, leaves, or plant overgrowth. This debris can inhibit your system and cause it to lower its efficiency.
  3. Arrange Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we enter the picture to help you tackle that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up prolongs the life of your system and keeps it operating at optimal efficiency. Spring is the best time to set up your tune-up so any issues or AC repair that needs to be made can be addressed before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a minimal investment into the lifespan of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.

We can’t help you with your entire spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to ensure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, or your system, or need to arrange your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at (832) 501-3419.
